ANE-LX1 firmware upgrade/downgrade Phone was working fine, but with Android 9. I tried to downgrade it to unlock it on older firmware. Firmware can't be flashed directly so i downgraded bootloader (like to FRP) with testpoint and now it starts flashing but then there's an error when writing system partition Quote:
Based on that list (https://www.dc-unlocker.com/supportedmodelsdcpx.php), ANE-LX1 is fully supported for firmware update. |
I doubt any Huawei mobile can be downgraded from android 9, only from android 8 to 7 maybe. |
Ok, so how do i revive it at this point? Error message is a bit strage as well? Does Huawei don't support sparsed fw, and that's on older bootloader? |
If phone is currently on Android 9 you can only hope revive it using Android 9 firmwares etc. Preferably exact same version that runs in it now. |
Should it write correctly with dc-phoenix or i'm at mercy of DLOAD and SD card upgrade ways? |

I tested update via SD card first, using same firmware version as it had before (Anne-L01 9.1.0.134(IRLC368E4R1P6T8)_Firmware_9.0.0_r3_EMUI9 .1.0_05015ARM) and it flashed fine. Phone works, except that it can't be sim unlocked on this version and this was my initial goal, bummer. Any hope for better support for new models in close future? Simlock and firmware upgrade/downgrade wise? |

Possible downgrade 9 to 8 or 7 for unlock network I successfully downgrade mate 10 pro and mate 10 and mate 9 |
Please use phoenix V105 it can flash in sparse format, but recommended use rescue recovery as first option . ANNE (most of kirin659) should be able downgrade to old security. |

Good to know. I was using v79 because that was the latest one yesterday and v105 was not released yet (i checked). I'll try again on monday. I assume testpoint is still required? What is this "rescure recovery" option? It it based on eRecovery that i could almost never get to work? What if it changes model/version in system and i won't be able to verify and find matching update to use SD card upgrade later? I just noticed that i tried to write C432 firmware, while phone originally had C368. I also haven't seen ANE-LX1 in OEMINFO section (it's always missleading on Huawei - LX1 being the same thing L21, right?). |

It load rescue kernel, ramdisk from target firmware file to ram and start rescue download mode. This mode donot allow change customisation, you must use same as in phone. But it allow downgrade Kirin659 and same other old cpu. After downgrade can change vendor/country by hcu and then write other customisation if required. If you changed oeminfo/ vendor country/model by testpoint, then can should able write any customisation by rescue LX1 can be L21 or L01 or L31 ... depend of model, you must set correct vendor country model matched with customisation file (you can find this in customizatiion file name, case sensitive) before begin write firmware/customization. https://i.imgur.com/rivSK8i.png |
It worked on v105, with rescue recovery option. Firmware downgraded correctly and reports 8.0.0.46(057B) as build number. HCU was able to sim unlock it (and reader bootloader code just in case) this time. I now have to upgrade it to something more recent because it doesn't seem to detect any available OTA udpates.
