Member: 4719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thanks for the anwser. I will give it a try. I know where I can Find Nkprofile, but can you get me Nokiatool somewhere? About the backups. Both versions were from 200000-400000. The V6.00 I took from another 6150 I have. I will let you know how it works out. BR |

Member: 4719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Here are the results: The contrast is back to notmal. I fixed that with NKprofile. But the locks are still closed. I tried with Noktool-034 but didn't help. Still closed. The 4 locks show in order: BBBBB-FFFF-FFFF-BBBBBBBBBF. Could a partial flash help? But I don't have one for 6150 V4.11. TNX for ideas. BR |

About your problem, after you flashed it with the higher version, did you try out some software like nokiatool or others to your phone and applied any changes like trying to unlock your phone? And if yes, was it in its new version or back to its original version? Regards, aCe |

Member: 4719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hello aCe, After I had flashed it with v5.23 I couldn't get passed security code. I took Logomanager to check the code but the one it showed didn't work. Tried several combinations (less then 10 to make sure it wouldn't block completely). After that I just flashed it again with the original v4.11. Problems with contrast are solved but still got these locks. I tried nokiatool and others, but ... no luck. BR. |

Member: 3165 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Your SP LOCK data is most likely corrupted. I think that there are some firmware versions can be upgraded up to a certain version only and no more. My guess is that the old firmware reads/write certain data at certain locations in your eeprom and/or treats them differently than the newwer versions. So maybe that's what happened why you can't use your security code. As for why the locks were closed, everytime you make a wrong entry with the code (or practically make any changes with your phone like profiles, etc) a value is changed in your eeprom to indicate that change. And as I mentioned earlier, this might have triggered a wrong calculation and hence a wrong value is placed in your mobile. A similar experience that I have is this. I own a 5110 v5.28 which was unlocked via the pin 6+7 trick. Sometime this year, somebody accidentally locked the 4th lock (nokiatool). Fortunately, the flasher was around so partial flashing was the choice rather than having to open my phone and do 6+7 trick so everything's ok. A few weeks ago, i've decided to downflash it(v5.24 coz i don't have a v5.27 backup with package C) and try to unlock it via nokiatool, so no opening required. I had a strong feeling that somehow i'll corrupt the flash authority ID (for i am using a different flash) but was confident because i have an eeprom backup. I did manage to unlock it just like the old version but when i replaced the original flash, It looses signal and keeps on rebooting after 30 seconds (similar to that of a phone flashed with a wrong PPM package). My speculation proved me right, it did corrupt the FAID. My advice to you is to go a Nokia Service Center and try to have it fixed for this is an eeprom problem. Hmnnn, maybe a version upgrade perhaps for this refreshes/recalculates the values of your eeprom. Or you can try making a partial flash for that version so that it would bypass the lock checking. It worked for me on a 3210 v5.01. I hope you find this information valuable. Regards, aCe |

Member: 4719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Tnx aCe, I'm learning all the time by these answers. I've thought about going to Nokia service to have a version upgrade. My guess is that that could solve the problem. However: I still would like to do it myself somehow and keep the nokia center as a last option. I was thinking about trying it with a partial flash because, if I'm not mistaking, it bypasses the locks as you say (where are these locks, as a matter of fact?- In the eeprom if I understood correctly?). The only problem is that I don't have a partial flash for this old version and can't find it on the net. Making it myself would be something I would like to do, but don't really know how. I'm also playing with the idea to reprogramm the eeprom (but then I have to dig up my programming skills from long ago... :-) I was wondering if I would reprogramm the eeprom with the soft from another 6150 and also it's firmware and PPM (so making a full copy of one mobile into another) that that also could work. But then I need a burner and everything... A lot of work for just one mobile. Just a thought. Cheaper and much easier just to buy a new mobile. Still would like to try it first with a partial flash. If anyone has the partial flash for 6150 v4.11... (Or the users manuall on how to create a partial flash... just joking, but every info is welcome.) e-mail: [email protected] BR |
