3310 no network - netmonitor results here--------help

hi ppl i have a 3310 which finds network, but as soon as the lights go out the signal dissapears.
i have activated netmonitor and here are the results....

83 -90 Xxx
0 0 x xxxx
13 13
ccch

the -90 on the top row changes almos continously but is alway minus something.
the large X on the top right changes into an asterix every now and again.

also the two lots of 13 on the third row changes every now and again but are normally in sync with each other

now from what i gather if the large X on the top row changes into an asterix the two xx to the left should change to a number and if not the tx is at fault. if this is correct where should i check first.
many thanx

83 = Digital channel phone is currently on (900mhz)
-90 = that is good!! it should be in minus. That is an acceptable strenght signal. If its 0 you should be worried!!

Xxx = TX strenght. Tell me, when this changes is there a number after the asterisk? The asterisk means the phone is sending, and the number following is the power level. if no number, means no power, so a tx fault. Read my other post about testing TX

You have RX on your phone. So for now you can leave your VCO, HAGAR, and ant sw alone first.

Get hold of TX detecting keychains (flashing keychains)... and try and make a call. If the LEDs of the TX detector starts to flash... replace COBBA IC. If they don't replace PA first.

If you dont have a RF detecting sticker or keychain just stick it right up to your computer monitor & watch for interference lines

The asterix is NOT followed by a number, which means i have no tx power. i have flashing stickers but sadly not light up. another good way is to place your phone by the speakers of your computer turn them up, if you here interferance, you have hope. but i have changed pa, antenna, i now get brilliant signall on voda and bt (900mhz) but not 1800. am i right in saying this is always the antenna switch - my replacement was from a dead board
many thanx

It could be... but it could not be!! 900 & 1800 TX has two totally seperate signal paths on the PCB, both pass through the PA & both arrive at the Diplexer. So it still could be the PA but probably is the diplexer. check all the soldering on those components!
