how to check flash ic...


...before flashing?

Is there a some trick to be sure that flash ic is ok before start erase/flash it ???

There's a button in the most known flashers: "CHECK"
Using it can provide some useful info ( but not complete) about Processor and Flash IC stage. If it returns bad data then you can think about your phones processor or flash chip is damaged.
But it will not give you info about flash sectors stage... maybe could happen, box returns good info about flash chip, but during erase or write could happen error due to damaged flash sectors (something similar as HDD bad sectors).

thanks, it's so frustrated when half dead nokia become total dead, then disasembly/rehot/reball or waiting few weeks for spare part... some kind of "scandisk" will be welcome before flashing
