Strange power problem with Nokia 6030

Ok so this is the problem.

I was given a Nokia 6030 to repair. It wasn't working at all.

So i first tried switching it on and it didn't work

Then I tried charging it and the battery indicator came on the screen, which automatically means that there's a problem with the power on/off button on the motherboard.

So I took a power on/off button from the motherboard of a Nokia 3330 and fitted it on using a hot gun and some soldering gum, only to see that I burnt the switch, making it useless.

So I remove the power on/off button from the motherboard and I let it cool down for about 10 minutes before putting it to charge to see whether it is working.

Surprisingly, the phone is switching on when I put it to charge! It's now working fine, I'm able to receive and send calls and sms.

If I remove the battery for about 10 seconds and then put it back on, it switches on by itself! :O

Note that I still haven't put a new power on/off button on the motherboard...so what do I do now? :S
