Red face broke my lg8110 possible 2 use imei on barred lg8110 phone

i stepped on my lg 8110, the display ribbon got cut, first sent it to three, after i clipped it back on, sayin it was a manfactor fault and the screen just stopped working, but they said it wasn't and would cost £130 to repair, so i search the net, incl ebay to find a display ribbon so i could repair it, and their wasnt any, i so a phone on ebay, which he said it was barred in uk, but would work abroad, and its a lg8110, i read on some sites u can change the iemi number, well i still have my broken lg8110 phone, is it possible i could give my broken phone imei number to the barred phone, im really desperate as im still under contract with 3g and payin £25 month which minutes im using, if it possible how do i do this. thank you for listening (reading).

i don't understand why do u need to change the imei
u said the ribben is snaped so u couldn't get a ribben but u got a phone
now why don't u take the working board from your broken phone and put in the one that u bought and swap the backs over OR TAKE THE FULL SCREEN(WITH RIBBEN) OF THE ONE THAT U BOUGHT AND PUT IN YOUR BROCKEN ONE
