GX25 Unlocking - Am I being stupid!!??

Ok, installed drivers, attached USB cable to PC, attached cable to GX25, removed sim, switched on phone and pressed "unlock" on Furious. Furious reports "Error" and doesn't get past 3%.

Tried Movilcom, pressed unlock, Movilcom says" Disconnect Cable, Press button 1 etc" but phone shows normal screen and pressing buttons only looks as if I'm trying to make a normal phone call!

Just can't seem to get any unlocking software to work. PC reports GX25 connected to USB com port 3 and phone shows small icon at top of screen when connected to USB cable but other than that, phone works normally but doesn't unlock. Should the phone into Test mode or something?

I must be doing something wrong here guys but just can't figure out what it is - any assistance much appreciated.
Paul

conect cable to powered on phone. after windows installs the driver go in device manager and see serial port witch is asigned to phone. select that port in furios software. press unlock and phone will go in testmode. after this follow instruction provided by furios (when phone goes in test mode you will have a popup window with instructions). when you will have only *** on phones display then you are in testmode
good luck

Hi sorinm,
Thanks for the information. It looks as if I have done everything correctly but yet the phone does not go into Test Mode.

The PC is communicating with the phone (Handset manager works perfectly), but for some reason the phone is not going into Test Mode once the cable is connected. No idea why, I wonder if there is perhaps a new firmware in this phone that resists previous unlocking methods?

I'm not sure but generaly handset manager use datacable based on Prolific circuit this cable create virtual com just exactly like a com cable and this cable is not suitable to unlock GX25. Correct cable is direct USB phone Pin 1234 to usb 4321 and use the phone driver not prolific drivers.
You can as well unlock this phone by Bluetooth if you have a BT dongle on your computer.

Hi guys!
Well, on what must have been the two hundredth attempt it worked. I have no idea why it suddenly decided to unlock but it it did (nothing was changed, it just suddenly went in to test mode and everything worked perfectly).

I'm using XP so maybe that didn't help. What a hassle though, spent half the night trying to get it to work. Never again, I'll buy my phones unlocked in future!

Again, my thanks for your help,
Boris
