Member: 68826 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | T630 not recognising charger or handsfree This one got dropped in seawater briefly with power on, but after cleaning with fresh water, disassembly, thorough drying, removing obvious salt and corrosion amazingly it came back to life. Everything seems to work fine. Until I plugged the charger in - which it will not recognise, likewise any handsfree. Connector contacts onto board had been slightly corroded but cleaned and appear perfectly good - measure ok contacts onto board. Measuring across the charger terminals shows a much lower impedance than a good one. So two questions - 1. is there anything obvious to do to recover it. Where is the voltage reg and charging cct on the board ? 2. is it feasible to run the T630 off dry cells - I'm thinking of modifying the battery cover to accomodate 3 x AAA cells (4.5v) - would I need to limit this to 4.1v (the notional fully charged level of the LiPolymer battery). What is the third terminal on the battery connector - do I need to connect this to +ve/-ve to fool the unit into thinking it has a fully charged battery. Any help very much appreciated - this was only three days old when it fell into the sea - in my pocket at the time and the pocket filled with water and I can't afford to replace it. RogerCO |
