The MPX200 which were made for the US market have the 900 band locked out. There are other versions of Windows Mobile 2002/2003 which will "unlock" the use of the 900 band on those MPX200's. You'll need the Motorola Mobile Upgrade Wizard and the correct .img file to flash the phone.

Well, you can unlock the MPx200 using UniMoto, hence the reason for this forum. With regard to unlocking the use of the 900 band, you will need to get a hold of the Motorola Upgrade Wizard and an .img file for Windows Mobile 2002/2003 which makes use of the 900 band. If you need that, PM me, and I'll provide a download link. Beware though, that my copy of Windows Mobile 2002/2003 seems to disable the headset function on this phone.

If anyone else has a Microsoft release of Windows Mobile which unlocks 900 band AND DOES NOT disable headset use, please let me know where to get it. Thanks.

Regards,

@admirb ... I would highly recommend purchasing your UniMoto account from Legija @ www.unimoto.net. He and Maxim (the creator of the software) are most closely connected from what I gather. Both Legija and Maxim have always provided me with quick, courteous, professional support. With regard to the software, the latest version is 2.23, and it is available for free download at www.unimoto.net. But, in order to use the software, you have to either purchase individual unlocking credits, or an unlimited account. MPx200 unlocking can only be done with an unlimited account from my understanding, and that costs USD$250.00 I believe....check unimoto.net for more details and confirmation on pricing.

I will email you for a copy of the Windows Mobile 2003, without the headset error, if you don't mind....that would be excellent! Thanks!

Regards,
