Help converting an A57 to a C55 - GSM-Forum

Hi guyzz

New user Mega32 here

I bought a Siemens A57 , to use for sending SMS via a Microprocesor.

I build a Serial Cable , and can send ATZ and get OK back.

But the A57 doesn't reckognize most of the AT commands used for sending and receiving SMS

I think i have read that the A-series doesn't support those commands.

And that it might be possible to convert it to a C55

Could anyone here walk me through the conversion ???

I have downloaded :

Freia15 & Freia18
and
SiMoCo

And i think i might have a picture of the testpoint to cut here

Is it the thin red line i have to cut ???

I need the C55 software and a step by step guide

I will be verry thankfull for that

Found a new "CutPoint" seems like it is not in layer2 , witch will make it easier

Don't waste your time with testpoints, just buy a used C55 phone instead!
The A57 flash content is very different from C55, and the C55 flash content WILL NOT WORK in a A57 phone! The only other flash wich will work on A57 is from A55 !! You could find a working C55 phone for 15-20 EUR!

flashing C55 FUBU whit joker and then "recalc all keys"

Did U tried this? Try to full flash an A55 to C55, and if works, I will give U a Budweiser beer!

And NO, the PCB of A55 is different from the PCB of C55, just look at keypad, there is two keys more than A55: Up, Down, Left and Right! A55 have only Up and Down keys in the middle!

Oh, but of course he need TestPoint, because without testpoint U can not flash the A57!!

It is working and many times tested by me

And C55 don't have 2 keys more. Keys from C55 are only other ordered.

Cut testpoint, fullflash the phone with C55 FUBU and make "recalc all keys" withjoker.

That's all. But better read EEPROM of your A57 first!

Any hints (links) to a C55 FUBU file that fits Joker ??

And ... Has anyone tried the new testpoint , on upper layer ??

It would be nice , not having to cut in 2'nd layer

I have tried to read out , eeprom and battery files with freia.

How do i do that with Joker ??

Yes tested some times with A55@C55

And a 1000 times with A56@C56

specialy a C55 FUBU for you.

Flash it with freia and make unlock (unlock-->direct unlock-->use org. IMEI) after flashing.

But don't forget to read A57 EEPROM before, coz save is save
