got a d500 with no service. can somebody help - GSM-Forum

it seems that phone can find the network; i have tested all the option in the network menu. still i would like to know if someboody have had simila problem and how did u fix it.

What network is the D500 on?

If... it's Orange UK or O2 UK then the phone could be barred - if so it will display "limited service" and on Vodafone UK, T-Mobile UK, Virgin UK etc it will get reception but not call out.

Finally if it was orange and the phone is legit (not barred) then register the sim card (if its a new one), finally if its none of them try band selection for GSM900 / GSM1800.

If your not in UK none of this might not apply to you.
