iPhone 3G only turns on with charger connected!! - GSM-Forum

Hello guys,

I have a iPhone 3G that only turns on (but don't start at all) with the charger connected. I've changed the battery for a new one and its the same thing. And better than that, I've changed his mother-board, for another one. Well, this mother-board in another chassis(and everything new) doesn't work either without charger connected, and a good board on the chassis of damaged iPhone worked fine! So, I concluded that the problem is on Board!

With charger, iPhone turns on, appears the Apple logo but nothing else, he doesn't really starts. And I'm sure it isn't a SW or FW problem. It is for sure a HW problem.

Anyone have an idea of what is the problem?

Plug it into the pc and if necessary reboot the pc.

How do you do a reflow my friend? I got a 2G is doing the same thing, it will not turn on by pressing the power button, it only turn on when you connect the charger to it, then you can disconnect the charger and every thing works fine as long as you don't turn it off, but you can press the power button and slide to turn it off, any ideas?

remove your screen protector and see if the problem still persists.
