W850i Operation failed - GSM-Forum

Hi,

My W850i is giving me the error Operation failed when i try and open the applications folder.

Can someone talk me through step by step on how to fix it?

I've downloaded SEtool but no idea what to do next?

full flash fone and unlock

try to master reset in settings

idebtify the fone to see the cid.it will show either cid49,50,51,52 or 53

click the support buttom
go to sonyericsson phones
select w850 under w850 select the cid that shown when u identified the fone.cid49,50,51,52 or 53
download the sw and the fs
after that select w850 in sonyericsson
go to add select the sw file first and the fs.
go to settings and tick in sign in mode and complete after flash
after that go to sonyericsson and click flash.
remember to extract the the files after download.

Hi Dominica,

I;ve got as far as finding CID49 Flash Files Library - CID49 - GSM Library, The main Database for Cellular Mobile Phone professionals

but then there are 4 options R1ED0001 etc Does it matter which option I pick to download the sw and fs files?

* select W850i
* mark only SIGN MODE ( 1.01 version already gdfs repair free)
* press RECOVERY
* connect phone with usb or com port
* you get brown 49 W850i after successful RECOVERY
* switch to empty board tab
* select W850i
* add W850i_GDFS_SSW.ssw
* add DB2020EROM_CNV_RED52_BROWN_CID49_DB2020.ssw
* click flash
* now u get red 52 W850i
* flash with red 52 firmware check on settings signed mode "customize phone after flash"
* DONE.

Soory its the SEtool Lite version I have not the full version - I take it I need the full version and not the lite version to do this?

you cant fix it with that software.,. go to the nearest service center or try to contact one of a member that can fix your fone.,. so you will have a big discount hehehe.,.
