Member: 1086977 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 50 | Dodgy... Thought this forum was about helping people if you could, not charging for the information. If I know anything that will help someone on here, I'll pass it on. If I physically fix someone's equipment in my workshop, then I charge. The 3GS power IC image is terrible and the explanation in pidgin English is too poor to follow, which is odd for someone who apparently worked in league with the very person who designed the iPhone. I think you are stating that the voltage supplied by the USB cable goes to the two MOSFETs in the image (not fuzzes - is that an attempt at fuse? You do know they're MOSFETs and not fuses?! - or whatever you call them), and then to the 338S0768 power management IC, which outputs the voltage to the inductor (or coil, if you prefer) and onwards to the battery. My concern with the 'fix' of directly connecting the unprotected USB power line to the battery is that there is no voltage or current control of the feed to the battery or charge monitoring, and li-ion batteries are known to be fussy about that kind of thing... The schematic does state the USB charging voltage to the 2 MOSFETs is unprotected. But sometimes at a price... |

Anyway, I'm surprised you haven't tried to charge people for this 'tip'. Are you really an electronics repair specialist? Do you know what causes things like the 1611 error? I'm not sure about you at all.

If you have a 16Gb model (never seen a 8Gb model with wifi probs) maybe the Wifi IC is a little bit damaged, but when you are close to the router, you can open websites? Check this..
