22.02.2013 RIFF JTAG – Vodafone 858 Smart (Huawei U8160) Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Resurrecting Huawei U8160 is simple.
Connection can be established with charger connected while battery is inside.

To resurrect Huawei U8160:
  • Solder JTAG cable to Huawei U8160 JTAG pads;
  • Connect Huawei U8160 tablet’s charger for power;
  • Make sure Huawei U8160 is selected in the list of models;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • De-solder JTAG wires;
Now device is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.
To enter download mode:
  • Disconnect PC cable;
  • Insert battery;
  • Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

22.02.2013 RIFF JTAG – LG P930 Nitro HD Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Repairing bricked LG P930 is easy with the RIFF Box. The device is based on the Qualcomm APQ8060 chipset.
Note, one simple way to connect over JTAG – connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on.

To resurrect LG P930:
  • Solder JTAG cable to LG P930 JTAG pads;
  • Connect USB cable to phone and PC;
  • Insert battery;
  • Make sure LG P930 is selected in the list of models;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.

27.05.2013 RIFF JTAG – Samsung Gt-S5380k Wave Y Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Repairing bricked Samsung S5380K is easy with the RIFF Box. To power the phone connect USB cable and insert battery. Sometimes it’s needed to press Power On key.
In case phone is not detected de-power phone completely, then wait few seconds, insert USB cable and then insert battery.

To resurrect Samsung S5380K:
  • Solder JTAG cable to Samsung S5380K JTAG pads;
  • Connect USB cable to phone and PC;
  • Insert battery;
  • Make sure Samsung S5380K is selected in the list of models;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.
To enter download mode:
  • Disconnect PC cable;
  • Insert battery;
  • Hold both ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Menu’ keys and press Power-On.
  • If nothing happens, try an alternative: hold both ‘Volume Up’ and ‘Menu’ keys and press Power-On.

27.05.2013 RIFF JTAG – Samsung GT-i9082 Galaxy Grand Duos (Samsung Baffin) Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Samsung I9082 is based on the Broadcom BCM28155 Processor (Cortex-A9 Dual-Core). JTAG pads are very small; professional experience in soldering is required to connect wires to the JTAG interface.
Note, one simple way to connect over JTAG – connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on.

To resurrect Samsung I9082:
  • Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I9082 JTAG pads;
  • Connect USB cable to phone and PC;
  • Insert battery;
  • Make sure Samsung I9082 is selected in the list of models;
  • Make sure a fixed TCK frequency is selected;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.

27.05.2013 RIFF JTAG – HTC J ISW13HT (HTC Valente) Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Repairing bricked HTC Valente (PK0710000) is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is connected.
Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID is re-flashed too. Thus after resurrection phone will have Model ID = ‘PK0710000’.

To resurrect HTC Valente (PK0710000):
  • Solder JTAG cable to HTC Valente (PK0710000) JTAG pads;
  • Insert batter and connect USB Data cable;
  • Make sure HTC Valente (PK0710000) is selected in the list of models;
  • If you use only battery, press Power On key;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally you can flash it using known flashing methods.
To enter download mode:
  • Disconnect PC cable;
  • Insert battery;
  • Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

27.05.2013 RIFF JTAG – HTC Desire SV T326e (HTC Magni) Unbrick – Dead boot repair supported


Repairing bricked HTC Desire SV (PM8610000) is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence may be required.
In case you have no USB cable near, make sure battery is charged enough and hold Power On button during initiation of JTAG connection.
Resurrector will reflash radio’s boot zone and will re-write PDA’s SPL to 1.35.0000 version. Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID may be re-flashed too. In this case after resurrection the phone will have Model ID = ‘PM8610000’.

To resurrect HTC Desire SV (PM8610000):
  • Solder JTAG cable to HTC Desire SV (PM8610000) JTAG pads;
  • Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  • Make sure HTC Desire SV (PM8610000) is selected in the list of models;
  • If you use battery, press Power On key;
  • Click Resurrect button;
  • Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  • Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;
Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

  • Disconnect PC cable;
  • Insert battery;
