[Warning] New iPhone 3GS 8GB Hardware Do not unlock with iPad Baseband [Warning]
 

Apple has released a brand new iPhone 3GS that have a new bootroom this 28 weeks of 2011.
Version is 4.3.5 with baseband 5.14.
A lot of jailbreakers and unlockers have encountered that when you update this baseband to 6.15 to unlock it,
You got corrupted baseband and it cannot used anymore.
Symptoms are:
No wifi
No ECID
No Imei
No bluetooth

as of now all informations i've got is all serial up to XXX109XXX is risky to update baseband.

XX109XX = 1 is the year of 2011 and 09 is week 9 of 1 year.
so if serial is XX931XXX means 2009 with week 31.
and its safe to update baseband.

Much better check the serial first before you update to baseband 6.15

i forget to say.. since iPhone 3Gs 8Gb are equipped with a Toshiba chip. The upgrade to a ipad baseband (06.15.00) make it unusable. Result = imei/Bluetooth/Wifi :mad::mad::confused:

The only supported baseband is Qualcomm chip!

update/edit:
its seems its very hot stuff i have mad small utility to check serial number.

please test and post results.. software is attached.

warning recode set to 201125 any release after or same will show warning.

Only for info 3g cannot be affected by this problem due to production of 3g are stopped time ago last firmware is 4.2.1 so don't ask if 3g also only 3gs.

If I'm not wrong so you are asking how to know which phone is safe to update BB and which one is not?
