On the way in I stopped at WalMart and bought a SIM card. The package I got is from 'StraightTalk' and it contains both T-Mobile and AT&T sim cards (so the buyer may choose) and a packaged $45 service plan credit. I put in the T-Mobile SIM and followed the activation steps. My iPhone is giving the message "The Sim card that you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. this is not a hardware issue with the iphone. please insert another sim card from a supported carrier or request that this iphone be unlocked by your carrier. please contact apple for more information." I called T-Mobile and they said the iPhone must be locked - but I'm sure it isn't as I used it with several different carrier sims in Australia. Any idea what's wrong or how to fix? Under the iPhone settings it says Carrier: Carrier 18.0 IMEI: 35 698306 739786 6 |
