change cda for p990

hello, i'm using an se p990 with a cda/5. so i was wondering whether i can change my cda version to a world generic one using kulankendi. and if yes how much credit do i have to buy for it. thanx in advance.

i have a few question to ask you regarding kulankendi server. but first let me explain my situation here.

i have a p990 with a cda/5. i need to change my cda to a world generic one (cda/1 or cda/2). reason being, currently only ppl with the world generic cda are able to update their firmware to the latest one (r9). hence the cda change.

so my questions are:
1) do i need to finalise the phone after the cda change? (bcoz i read somewhere in this forum that it'll cost 1 credit to finalize.)
2) how many credits alltogether do i need to do the cda change. (from a-z)
3) will i be able to run seus after the cda change?
4) can you provide me with a step by step instruction to perform this process.
(once u're done with your samsung thingy that is).

one thing, SEUS will don't change firmware in phone if phone have already latest one.

ad1. In P990i is something similar to finalization but isn't same thing, when U want only change CDA then only CDA will be changed. Yes this process need to "open" GDFS loader and this cost 1 credit.
ad2. 1 credit.
ad3. If U will change CDA to one what really exists and is linked with firmware then for sure.

before give out update I must test all to be sure. P990i is not so cheap phone and any operation with GDFS will have bad end...

Is it possible to change the CDA and then run SEUS so it updates the firmware to the latest Region 1 software right now? On the main page it says p990i is supported but I am not certain of it.

I have a problem. I cannot install those "Harmonie drivers" and anyways when I try to check info on my P990i it shows the following:

Hold 'C' button and plug DCU60 USB cable.
Phone Connected...
Detected: DB2000: P990i Series
Connecting to server...
Error: EsB

I tried on another computer and installed the drivers properly so now I'm going to try and change the CDA!

Final edit: It worked! Congratulations!

Now I upgraded to the newest firmware and it seems a lot faster. Although I actually miss the Orange customisation menu bar on the left a bit and I can't find the Opera web browser. Hmm!

If drivers are not installed correctly then I can't help U with any errors
Try deinstall all drivers for P990i first , restart pc and try again.

i too have a problem. when i connect my phone. a popup comes out non stop and says "Access violation at address 0C352F37. Read of address 0C352F37."

I followed the instructions as in this post:

At first I had a problem but it was obvious that I had the SE drivers installed on my main machine, I took it to another machine and followed the instructions strictly, it recognised the phone as P990 but still asked me for the drivers since I had never installed them before.

1) plug in the phone while holding C and install Harmonie drivers
2) KKlient should be able to get info from your phone
3) check the CDA change box and input the CDA you want (I Suggest Generic world 1 as in this list: http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/P990i )

now i'm uninstalling all the programs relating to se from my machine. (pc suite and symbian 9 drivers). will restart the pc and try again. will update the resultes later.
