Dear retrovertigo
If phones don't start chimera software will not see them so you won't be able to use firmware update (although this would be the solution to your problem).
In this case you can do it with odin3. You need to start phones in download mode (press volume down + home + power button) then update firmware with odin. (But of course you need to download a firmware before doing this).
