Of course, this is because SRF file for this device model at the Support Area ("ZTE_Z836BL_
EMMC.srf") if for repairing this device via eMMC, not via USB, so Software switches to proper interface.
This device is based on MSM8917 CPU and if You want to connect it via USB, do the following: select "Brand: Custom Settings", "Device (Core): MSM8917", select USB loader, put the device into "Qualcomm...9008" Mode and try to connect.
