Yes the demo remove cost extra credits. You have to connect the device in ADB mode or in FASTBOOT mode to reach it. Click on the service , and you can select the new modem version and vendor id. IT is the same as you would do the OEM INFO modification.

Also after the process you have to reflash the device with a firmware which is compatible with the new Model version.
