Yes inductors used as filters too ( Ex. the cross fading filters inside the loud speackers ) they use the coils as " shouck coils " to reduce the ultra high frequency signals ( high pass filter ) if connected in seires ( at woofers ) and if used with tweeters it is connected in parallel with the tweeter to eleminate the low frequencyes from the tweeters .
also shouck coils used at the Cars motors as an RF ( radio filters ) devices to reduce the RF harmony of the motor from feeding to the radio .
