No, it is wrong about flash chip !
That C72 has 0001,227E AMD Flash IC that is supported with Papuautils,
But maybe you need to replace boot, I have never had such problem, but if you can risk, replace boot (write with Papuautils BCORE V22) and try to recalc keys (76, 5008, 5009, 5077) ... (Maybe this is enough, if not) and then fullflash the phone (I`ll provide you fullflash if needed) ..
