A soft reset should be sufficient to solve any problems you experience. You can do this by switching the device off and then on again. If the power key does not respond, you may pull out the battery. Any unsaved work at this point will be lost.

Please back up your device before you hard reset it. If you need to hard reset your device, go to Start > Settings > More > Perform Hard Reset. Please note that a hard reset will clear all your User data and contacts, your connection settings to your operator, the program pack that came with your device and any program you have installed yourself. You must back up all your data before performing this operation, including manually copying out ringtones, pictures, etc. you may have on your device. A hard reset is a permanent erase, and data cannot be recovered after this.
