It is same usefull like a Hotair station that don't melt your plastic connectors, don't **** your components away from the pcb and heat only the tracks on the flexes, without burning the rest.
You can even remoove metal shields with it by raising the power-temperature level from the Potentiometer - but be carefull to go back to normal power- temperature when returning to normal PCB work -- else it can even heat up to 900 degree Celsius the PCB and tost it

Also you can use the Tip on the heater - to do more delicate work, like working on flexes.
At the end the Tool offers everything needed to do the job, but the repairer still need to have the necessary skills for the job - since hardware don't have 1 button press-solutions.
