Courtesy of flamekeeper: Use NSS to change your Product Code to 0558988 if your phone is blue or 0551710 if it's red and then update normally using NSU.
Worked for me.
Sidenote: the update wiped all my carrier (Rogers) customizations and settings. Had to use this to get the web browser working again:
