Why sell another box?
Make just software working on all the other boxes... at the end all the boxes work on on FTDI interface... the commands are close all the same..
This give you the chance to sell your software to more people without forcing them to buy box and cables... The problem is find the working protection and, actually, is hard to find until you don't use mixes like windows serial and server logs...
