Genie can unlock sl3 many months back. But like you said, the price is very costly, f.e the price of unlocking Nokia 5130c is about 2/3 of the price of new set. So not worth it for most set except those high end models.
My idea is if someone comes and want to unlock 5130c, tell them the price of unlocking using genie and if they still want to do it, then buy a new set, take out the board and fit it inside customers phone, disassemble the new phone and sell the parts(lcd, mmc, Cover, keypad, etc) or use it yourself to repair another set. You still have customers phone board and keep it in safe place till Mx team comes up with a reasonable unlocking price. What do you think of it guys???
