If the firmware has been upgraded to 03.10.01 then you are out of luck (hopefully Feb 28th something good will happen but dates have been mentioed before and have passed with nothing)
If you didn't use one of the nice jailbreak programs to perserve basebands then you likely have 03.10.01 (with no way to unlock currently without paying someone for a nice codE)
