Before installing this new Phoenix Service Software version A14 2004.16.4.47 it is mandatory to uninstall Phoenix versions A12 2003.50.7.36 or older.

Procedure:

3. Select "Phoenix Service Software A"
4. Uninstall old Phoenix A12 or older

This procedure is necessary because A14 and newer Phoenix versions use new installation package compared to A12 and older.

Important notice for Winlock 4 users:

- Winlock 4 software v1.08.000 or older does not work with Phoenix A14 release.
- If you use Phoenix service software on the same computer as Winlock 4, please continue using Phoenix A12. Do not update Phoenix to version A13 or A14.

This Phoenix Service Software installation package includes following SW components:

- Phoenix Service Software
- DK2 Dongle Driver
- DKU-2 USB Driver
- FLS-4S Dongle Driver

During installation a Dongle must be attached to the parallel port of your computer and when installing Phoenix into WinNT 4.0, Win2000 or XP you must have admin rights locally.

For using the Phoenix in Win2000 or XP, user must have power user rights.

After installing Phoenix Service Software version A14 2004.16.4.47, please install latest product specific data package; do not use old data packages.

Known limitations/errors:

- Data package network use (Phoenix on local machine, data package on a shared network drive) not fully supported and therefore it should not be used.
- PKD-1 Dongle with 5 digit serial number does not work when it is connected to parallel port with the FPS-8* Flash Prommer. Phoenix does not recognize the dongle and Phoenix will not start. The solution is to change your dongle to a new one with 6 digit serial number.
- Default tuning channel change does not work
- BT Flasher indicator does not work on COM 2
- The parallel port in some IBM Netvista computers may cause problems when using the FLS-4S. This is because the rise time for the strobe is much longer than for any other pins of the port (problem has to do with the parallel port HW).
- Due to the modifications for network use (Phoenix on local machine, data package can be used from a shared network drive), installation of some phone specific data packages released during early September 2003 may cause incorrect operation. The most common symptoms are label printing and automatic flash file selection problems (files not found) because the local directory is written incorrectly by the data package. In these cases please be sure that the old Phoenix SW versions are uninstalled and try to re-install the new Phoenix service SW version A13.
- Winlock 4 SIM lock software does not work properly with Phoenix A14 (and A13) due to different framework.
- Automatic Tuning for WCDMA products does not work in this release, previous Phoenix release should be used if autotuning for WCDMA models is needed.

Needed equipment for software update:

- Phoenix Service Software version A14 2004.16.4.47 (or later), which includes all needed drivers and flash support files
- Latest phone model specific Product Data Package
- Flash Update package for FPS-8/FLS-4 (v 3.12.000 included in Phoenix A14 package)
- JBV-1 Software update version 18 (or later)
- PKD-1 Dongle & Activated Flash Prommer FPS-8 or
- FLS-4S POS Flash Dongle
- Product specific service tools

Note:
- A complete Phoenix service SW installation package will always include the latest available drivers and flash update files
- Please use separate driver of flash support file installation packages only, if updates occur between complete Phoenix releases
