This is a very common error that pops up on an iPhone. This error also shows up on other iOS devices. The typical error message will be that there is a hardware issue. But actually, that is not the case most of the times. The basic reason for this message to show up is expired security software. This can also be because the software was not installed properly. To check if it is a hardware issue, try connecting the device through a good dock connector or a computer. If the IMEI number is a default value or the MAC address is missing, it shows that it a hardware issue.
