Member: 626209 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 42 | Hello. I have a Huawei P40 (ANA-NX9) for Huawei Id removal. I tried a couple of firmwares in an attempt to get into factory mode but I got "Switching your device to Factory Mode is not possible! Please, connect your device via Test Point and perform the desired operation." so I opened up the phone to do a hardware testpoint. Since for this model in the help under "14. Factory Mode" there isn't a picture for the testpoint I looked it up online and more than 1 result indicates this: https://i1.wp.com/www.eazy-share.com...TEST-POINT.jpg The problem is that it DOSEN'T do anything, no "new hardware found", no sound, not a single thing. Here's info for the phone from fastboot mode: Reading build number Device Model: ANA-N29 System: ANA-N29 11.0.0.196(C432E5R4P3) Android Version: 10 Base Version: ANA-LGRP4-OVS 11.0.0.196 Custom Version: ANA-N29-CUST 11.0.0.5(C432) Preload Version: ANA-N29-PRELOAD 11.0.0.3(C432R4) C_Version: C432 D_Version: D000 Read Info done. What am I doing wrong? Isn't it the right testpoint? Is testpoint disabled on this firmware? Can you point me to a firmware that would for sure work to get it to factory mode by software? This happens with multiple usb cables and usb ports and it is detected as you can see just fine under fastboot mode and also when it boots to the welcome wizard. Thanks in advance. |

Member: 626209 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 42 | I'm back with news. I built a cable actually it's a cable extender so I can connect any cable I want and it does work, phone now is detected and I get as far as: Saving backup of RECOVERY_RAMDISK... Error: Download: write failed where it fails every time. I think I need to sacrifice a good quality not very long cable and try with that one. The phone is ANA-NX9 and since that EXACT model isn't listed I chose the closest thing which is ANA-AN00. Could it be this why it dosen't get passed saving RECOVERY_RAMDISK? |

Member: 626209 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 42 | Update. It worked. Long story short I used a shorter cable still with the cable extender and it worked. I gotta modify the aforementioned short cable because it seems that the phone and the procedure is sensitive to the quality of the cable and reliability of the connection. |
