3210 COntact Service problem

Hi
i got a nokia 3210 v4.02 , and it had a contact service problem before . When i resetted mobile using nokia tool the contact service problem faded away . And now mobile seems to work fine , but it isnt ! . Right now the mobile is working 100% , i can recive and make calls , but after a while i cannot make any calls and when i type *#06# it displays a corrupted IMEI number . The imei is 448903200284698 but when it decides to corrupt it will display imei 002?37::34245 or something like that . I didnt flash phone yet cause i dont have a flasher cable . If i will flash it will it solve this problem or i must buy a eeprom reader/writer to solve it ? cause it seems like eeprom is corrupted ! .

thx

Hi mp3hot!

I think flashing will not help because imei number is stored in
physical eeprom of 3210. You should write clean eeprom with
eeprom programmer and then calculate faid & imei data. That will
solve your problem.

Sometimes works good sometimes not

hi,

If your phone work good again when use nokiatool (or make some pressure with the connector to the phone's mainboard)).

And after a while CS again, and IMEI is corrupted,

Hmm, weill, if you have got a soft problem in the eeprom IMEI area you wouldnt get a working phone without reprograming.
Just thinking : if some bytes overwritten in the eeprom caused by X-ray or electomagnetic field power or some Hell's thing, so you never get a working phone again withot reprogramming, These bytes has no chance to rewrite itself to origi states!!

More likely my mate: You have an old 4.x ver 3210. So the contacts beetwin the cobba chip and the phe's matherboard is not perfect, and as well somtimes the Cobba-ID also not correct, and so the IMEI programming data not perfect, and last you got a CS with incorrect IMEI!!! When you connect an mbus cabel to use nokiatool or etc. you made some pressur and the cobba contact renew for a while , but not for ever

Rehot your cobba chip with a hot air gun and a good flux. OR play wit until get a signal and sell it quickly)

Pony Programmer!

I don`t know whether SMD Programmer with SOIC Clips is good or not because I never used it. I always use Pony Programmer
and I am quite satisfied with it.
