6150..... 4.13 Upgrade to 5.23... my long story - GSM-Forum

Hi guys... I thought I let you know about upgrading my wife's 6150 with 4.13 MCU and PPM C Pach to 5.23 and PPM A Pack ! As a good student, I made a backup of the phone's firmware. As the phone's got an externat EEPROM I was not too worried about that.... So I downloaded the file from Brad's site.... called 6150-523 and encouraged as I was... flashed the phone ..... S**t!!! Only s**t !!!

The phone wanted a Security Code after updating which it never ever had before! The usual 12345 or 00000 did not f#%$ng work at all!!!

What now? OK Give up the plan of upgrading -already thinking of an excuse what to tell the wife- but reflashing the 6150 with the Backup Data didn't help either <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

The bloody phone now rejects the SIM!!! Showing all locks EEEEEEEE and FFFFFFFFFF What a nightmare!!!

Now... as Idon't give up too easy... new trial: Get different soft from different site.... MCU 5.23 and PPM 5.23A

Upload the stuff to phone.... Unlock with Jethro 6.22 (as all f&@#$ing locks are dead again) and then run B-Phreaks Logger 1.7 for FAID

N O T H I N G the logger doesn't wanna know my new PPM and refuses to make a log file.....

OK... got the Logger V1.5.... use this one.... F/A (for the english speaking readers)

Download V1.2 (as I am a B-Phreaks sub I need to use them.... KOCI's logger made a log without even asking stupid questions)

Reset phone to ****tory settings.... NOTHING Not possible I am told...... and the wife is getting angry wioth me .... she wants to phone her friend and is waiting for me ... the ***%$^%%

Change of cable.... Use Flasher 5.14 Reset whatever I could reset.... back to B-Phreaks logger V1.7..... F**k... it's reading the phone!

Read, send and 1 minute later got the update! Sent it to phone and.... believe it or not... WORKING !!! The guys saved my live..... wife gone partying with her friend and I enjoy being home with my bockie :-)))))

Did you use right DSP version? Try to use another DSP v. You can download 6150 version with DSP from <a href="http://brad.satelit.cz" target="_blank">http://brad.satelit.cz</a> or mail me,I can send it to you. regards & good luck

AFAIK there is only one DSP chip type in the 6150.
