Different 7110 MCU/PPM - GSM-Forum

I have come across the same MCUPPM version of 7110 but they are two different sizes.

1 - 3,737,552
2 - 3,801,088

whats the difference?

i've found out that mcu+ppm address is 00200000 - 00590000 but how come some mcuppm i've downloaded exceeds the expected filesize? does it include the eeprom section?

That's easy to answer.....

The file can be upto 4.194.304 bytes in size depending what was read from the phone; in this case it is a complete backup inclusive the emulated EEPROM area (PMM + EEPROM)

If you check with a HEX Editor, you should find that the content of the file from true $00390000 (virtual 00590000) should be $FF

To be on the save side... just use the HEX Editor (someting like Ultra Edit works 100%) and cut the rest of the data from true $00390000 off, which gives you the combined MCU+PPM file with the desired size of 3.735.552 bytes
