what kind of notebook you have : NEC Versa 2760MT which operating system you use : Windows 98 the description of your infrared port in Windows' Device Manager : Generic Ir Serial Port (COM3) exactly what you have done to get it working : Downloaded and Ran GGE 2.6b in Win98 DOS window what kind of error you get : After setting port to COM3 and sending Op Logo or Grp. Graphics, Status="Fail" at 10% My installation of Nokia Data Suite 2.0 and Nokia Composer works with COM3. I have COM1 for external (not turned ON) 56K modem, and COM2 for PCMCIA (not installed) 56K modem. NDS port is COM4. I don't have a data cable. I have followed the instructions for Win98 and NDS setup from the web -- I have no Ir LAN Adapter (removed), no virtual ports, and I have edited MSPORTS.INF and used regedit to set UseIr=01, UserPort=COM4 and UserPortIr=COM3. I repeat, NDS and Composer are working fine. Kessler's two software for graphics and logo also works. The only problem is GGE. Can someone help me please. |

Member: 30 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Why don't you try the virtual NDS Com Port which seems to be Com 4 on you notebook. I don't know anything else, as I don't use a notebook or infrared ports. If this program won't run anyways, why don't you just buy a cable (www.marquel.com). I've heard that cable data transfer is safer. And you can use the Nokia Startup Logo Editor (www.wildies.de) which is pretty cool! Hope I could help you out! TheDon ------------------ |
