Post "help contact service"

Hi All,

I need help, 5110 v5.28 on “contact service” not caused by improper unlocking, run mcu self test on wintesla, all fields passed except for eeprom sec checksum which failed. Checked lock condition with NokiaTool, all locks closed and can’t be unlocked by any software and unlocking trick.

Wintesla

MCU self test:
All fields ----------------passed
Eeprom Sec Checksum----------failed

Nokia Tool

MCC+MNC EEEEE U CLOSED
GID 1 FFFFF U CLOSED
GID 2 FFFFF U CLOSED
M EEEEEEEEEE U CLOSED

I saved the eeprom data and upload new data from working phone…Run Factory Default Settings on wintesla..”Contact service” removed, but all locks were still closed and still cant’ be opened… I even tried to remove and change flash ic with lower version but still all locks can’t be opened…….Any solution !!??…

Regards,

neb

unless you have a TDF4 sec box, its goodbye phone.

another drastic soulution is to change all the eeproms.... but still, i think, you would need the sec box.

Hi,

I have a very strange experience with CONTACT SERVICE problem. A guy gave me a 5110 v5.28 to unlock. Connecting pins 6&7 didn't work, and moreover the phone said contact service. But when I desoldered the wires and put all back together the phone was OK. After that the guy told me that he had the sp unlocking code (which he got from the provider) and that he tried to enter it into the phone, but it didn't work.
After all of this, I have no will to mess with this piece any more. Anyway, I'd like to hear some comments about this.

B.R.

to neb

the problem is stored in the COBBA!

there where the locks dammaged ;-(
you can try to bring it in a service center and maybe it will have a little chance after a software update, but this is in 98% not working!

for this you need more then the tdf-4, sorry think the mobile is dead for home workers!

to MDR:

please let me know what for you need the TDF-4 this is flash security box!?

best regards

Hi Y2K,

Yes.. not all contact service problem can be normalized by "CSR".It depends on the degree of damage inflicted on eeprom data. I have another case, after repairing the "original" dump, contact service was removed but all locks were closed and can't be open again by any software or trick..

As you point out that the problem was stored in COBBA..Does changing of said IC NMP4370485 will solved the problem?!

Regards,

neb

Hi Koloksky,

All locks were closed...So, likewise doesn't accept any sim card anymore!

With regards to changing of COBBA, I haven't tried it yet...I doubt if it will solved the problem.

Hi GAB,
What do you use for fixing "Cont.Service" ?
Is it >Nokia repairer by Guar v1.0< 105 KB
or something else ?

Hello Guys,

Guar Repairer only works for checksum
problems. Even if you have the correct
checksums, but have incorrect Security
Bytes (First 11 or 12 bytes in EEPROM before
first IMEI), your phone will still be locked!
This is the harddest part of the EEPROM I
think.

I have this problem with an old 6138 v5.01.
I has been dead for more than a year now, and
still upto today I try to fix it with no
luck I managed to rebuild the IMEI and
the locks, but this is all useless without
the right security bytes.

I think changing the COBBA will not help.
Your phone will still be locked. Changing
flash to lower and unlock will also not work
because the problem is in the EEPROM not the
phone version. I think nokia service can
still fix it, that is if they are WILLING
to fix it

Best Regards,
X-Shadow

Hi,
I think that Cobba and the serial sharing in
some way the security of the phone. I had
many barred Nokias(51/61). I had also few broken boards which a used for parts. So when I get Flash and Cobba, and the eeprom dump and put it on the barred board - that's
a new phone. I've tryed it many times. Other
thing is that if the both boards are one and the same SW, maybe don't need to change the Flash chip, just Cobba and the serial(??).

If the damage in the serial is so bad maybe
changing the Cobba and writing the new eeprom will help. And they must match( to originate from one and the same phone).
Other way is if somebody has a really detailed map of the eeprom, I've never seen it yet.

Best Regards

Hi Bhp@co,

The first part of my dump were damaged, the part before the first IMEI, I asked the opinions of "CSR" authors and both of them said that, that part was written with unknown algorithm yet so they can't rebuild the lost data as of this time.

Changing of COBBA and copying of its serial pair is my only way to normalize the phone as you mentioned. Desoldering of the said part is difficult but I have to try.

Big TNX to you and to the rest who gave their opinions.

Regards
