Post MCU + PPM - Please explain!

I looked around here and haven't seen any topics explaining!
MCU + PPM i know is the phones actual software and language packs but - i need to know, can I upgrade mcu/ppm with only a standard flasher (like the £16 one on www.rete.co.uk)???
I've seen places selling "boxes" to do this and these are VERY expensive...
Will my standard one work and does anyone know of any sites which will give me a complete explanation??

Thanks in advance!

You can use FLASHER 1.00 for uploading new software to the phone.
You will rewrite MCU and PPM in the phone.
Never rewrite EEPROM or PMM,you will kill the phone.
After writing MCU and PPM,you have to recalculate checksums in the phone.
You have to use logger:
You will read the phone with logger.
Send log file to FTP or mail to man,who will calculate checksums and he will send you calculated log.
And you will write this log to the phone.

You can download logger and prepaid logs on http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk
or on http://www.unlocking.cz/nokia/index.html

Great! Thanks a lot for the quick response!

But - Does anyone know a way I can calculate the security bytes myself without using the logger - I'm only a student and can't afford 300usd for Nlicker.

Thanks for humoring me on this one..

goto bph&co site.(link in previous reply)
There are cheapest log files.
I think you can't calculate logs by yourself.

Oh, another question if you guys dont mind!
You say you're never to overwrite the eeprom - how can i avoid this?
Will dejan 1.00b give me the option to JUST right mcu and ppm? or is there some other way to avoid writing eeprom?

Thanx in advance AGAIN guys

The map provided by b-phreaks is very good, and accurate.

We have a detailed chart in our unlocking guide, I am prepared to release the chart for free if there was an interest in it.
