Nokia 5510 MP3 Player Problem...

Hi.

I have a problem with my Nokia 5510. Once I wanted to record a song from the radio. When I stopped it, my Nokia went crazy. I turned it off. Then I turned it on again. When I checked my songs, only 2 songs were left from 9! And it told me, that 50 MB from 64MB were used. Although I just had 3 songs on it, now I just can only fit 4 songs on it. My warranty already expired. These guys in the Nokia Shop told me, they want to have 80 €uros for formatting it. Isn't there an easier or cheaper way, to get rid of this problem? Please help me!!!

Format it using NoKia Audio Manager, if that fails format it using windows explorer then Audio Manager.

Thanks, but Windows Explorer tells me that there is a problem formatting it, and Nokia Audio Manager just deletes all songs...

But anyway, I got a Panasonic GD87 and a MP3 Player. So this problem with the Nokia 5510 is low priority.

5510 format

I should do it with WinME. In XP it won't let you format it. I've had many times that problem. I had a dual boot system just for that. Find someone that has WinME installed and format your NOKIA there.

I had 1.2GB free on my 5510. The FAT was currupted and then I used the explorer format to format it and it was fine.

Tell me if it worked.

PS:Try to disable anti-virus too.

My laptop has Windows ME; and my father has Windows 2000. So, I will try it on both. I will tell if it worked or not.

Thanks!

I had 1.2GB free on my 5510. How did you get this much memory on your Nokia 5510? How to increase the internal memory from 64mb to 1.2 GB?

1.2 Gb

There is no 1.2 GB of real memory. That happens because the FAT was corrupted showing invalid memory space.
