Member: 495818 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | What's required to flash Nokia 6230? I'm pretty new to the flashing scene so excuse my ignorance before I begin! I have used the search function but am still unsure on where to begin and what exactly I require. From reading the description of the forum I have come to the conclusion that the 6230 is not actually a DCT-4 handset; it is in fact a TIKU handset. Does this render DCT-4 flashing programs useless? What software program would you recommend to flash this phone? i.e. the program with the highest success rate. I have downloaded V5.50 firmware with a description of "RH-12 MCU SW Ver. 05.50" and is 36.4MB in size. Do I require any hardware to flash this phone? I have the Nokia DKU-2 USB cable. Is this of any use? I have managed to acquire 2 6230's and would like to upgrade them to the latest firmware and remove the operator branding. Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Richard |

Member: 495818 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thanks for the reply Firefoxe. I couldn't really justify spending in excess of €100 on external devices like the JAF, MT Box, UFS3 etc. as I would use it once and it would end up in a drawer for the rest of its lifetime. I recall flashing my old Motorola V3 using just a USB cable and some free software I downloaded to update to the latest firmware last year, and was interested to see if I could do the same thing with my 6230's. So to sum up. Flashing the 6230's is not possible without using the external devices listed above? |
