What's required to flash Nokia 6230?

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to the flashing scene so excuse my ignorance before I begin! I have used the search function but am still unsure on where to begin and what exactly I require.

From reading the description of the forum I have come to the conclusion that the 6230 is not actually a DCT-4 handset; it is in fact a TIKU handset. Does this render DCT-4 flashing programs useless? What software program would you recommend to flash this phone? i.e. the program with the highest success rate.

I have downloaded V5.50 firmware with a description of "RH-12 MCU SW Ver. 05.50" and is 36.4MB in size.

Do I require any hardware to flash this phone?

I have the Nokia DKU-2 USB cable. Is this of any use?

I have managed to acquire 2 6230's and would like to upgrade them to the latest firmware and remove the operator branding.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

hi

to flash the phone u can use a easy interface then dku if your are a bignner u can buy ufs 3 to do it ...... and u can flash the phone and also remove the logo and with the help of Logo manager u can chnage the logo or remove the logo for that phone....

UFS is a device ..... interfacet to the mobile and computer ....... there are many other device in the market like mt box, jaf, ub box they are also interface for the phone ... u can search the forum for more info on every thing .... you require ...

Thanks for the reply Firefoxe.

I couldn't really justify spending in excess of €100 on external devices like the JAF, MT Box, UFS3 etc. as I would use it once and it would end up in a drawer for the rest of its lifetime.

I recall flashing my old Motorola V3 using just a USB cable and some free software I downloaded to update to the latest firmware last year, and was interested to see if I could do the same thing with my 6230's.

So to sum up. Flashing the 6230's is not possible without using the external devices listed above?

Can you elaborate on this? Are you referring to Phoenix software as being the best software to use in conjunction with an external box device like the JAF?
