Unhappy nokia 2300 blank IMEI

GUYZZ.....I HAVE A 2300.......WHEN I INSERT SIM-CARD I GET AN ERROR MSG----SIM NOT VALID AND WHEN I INSERT *#06# ICAN READ MY IMEI NUMBER AS----????????????????3

PLZZ SOME1 HELP.........IN DETAIL......BECAUSE I M TOTTALY NEW IN THIS........THNXZZ A LOT IN ADVANCE
