Is Restriction code, same code as received from IMEI database servers? - GSM-Forum

When an IMEI database server sends a code, can it be entered when it asks to "Enter Restriction code" (as seen when inserting the wrong SIM card in phone) or must you enter: #PW+CODE+1#?
