3120 "not charging" after water damage - GSM-Forum

I searched the forum and did not find an example of my problem, so here goes:

My 3120 went into the washing machine (was in the pocket of my *****), after drying out, it works fine, but will not charge with my rapid charger or car charger, I get a "not charging" message. The weird thing is that it charges fine with an older Nokia desktop charger.....

I am guessing that the car and rapid charger output a higher voltage????

Hi,
Please let me know what do you mean "after drying out"? how do you do it?

Your phone is not really dry and you turn it on, it's make a short component. look at diagram schematic and find that short on board.

I let it dry for a couple of days. The phone works fine and charges just fine with an older Nokia charger, it is just a problem with the rapid and car chargers.
