if you can switch power on then off, that switch it must working !

when you insert battery, then CCONT give 3.7V to power switch side, and when you press power key, then it will reset watch dog , so MAD take over CCONT, and MAD is scanning all key include power key !

when you press power key to off phone , MAD order into "active dead mode"! so i think, your CCONT or MAD is one have problem !

Willy, ive got a strange problem with a 8210. Power switch intermittently doesnt work (Switch OK), and intermittenly I loose a whole column of keys. CCONT has been reballed. I checked in the service manual & power key & all row / columns keypad go to MAD, so am I right its a MAD fault?

Scaramouche

after you power on phone , try do this:
check 3 6 9 # key working ?
make ROW 4 this line ( center pad of 3 6 9 #) to gnd , and see phone off or not !
go to check V360 and R374
or short C342 both side !

i think MAD is problem !

Willy
