6610i stand-by light stays on after switching off! - GSM-Forum

I have a nokia 6610i that works fine, however whenever i switch it off the phone turns off BUT the standy-by light on the LCD stays on and it doesnt completly switch off unless i take the battery off.
When i say stand-by light i mean the screen is black but lighted, just as it if you were about to power the phone on.

what is the phone's history? is it water damaged?

just opened it and it contained a trace of water damage just underneath the LCD. I have cleaned with nail varnish remover but now when i put the battery on the light is bit more visible and flashing abit more than before!

Remove backlight then clean contact put back backlight...
