reni2002,

If I understand you correctly...

1) Make sure to use the correct program for Nok3210
2) Connect cable to pc and phone
3) Insert the phone battery
4) Power on the phone and click on test/read on the program

Let me know what u would like to do with the phone/program (unlocking eg.)

Regards

AFR

Hi AFR & Willy. Thanks for your interest to my problem.
After 2 years a good work my Nokia 3210 have begun to show me at an interval of 5 days "Contact service" when I powered it on.
From 2 months and now the above message appaers constantly in turning on. That why I can`t use my NK and that reason I wish to try myself to repair eventually.
First of all I bought a cabel for my PC COM port. Is that a right cabel I`m not sure. I know it have 2 kind type of it. Second: I connected the cable to my phone and to the PC. I downloaded from Internet a lot of programms for Nokia. All of them tell - the phone not connected.
I want to be alive my 3210 only, not to unlock or change the logo or somethik like that. I` m new in it but have a big wishes. If you can help me.
Thks in advance.

Although I'm not that hardware "guru", I'd suggest you ensure a few things to let others give you further help:
  • Ensure that your cable is MBUS-Type.
There should be a remark on the cable or package, or there can be a tiny switch at one of the connectors to switch between MBUS and FBUS mode.
Maybe you can borrow a working 3210 from somewhere to test your cable.

This is the most important part, if this is not for sure you can't start to examine/repair your phone.
  • Charge your battery first (if still possible).
  • Download "EEPROM Tools 3.1" from http://www.gsmschwantz**** (in section "Software").
  • Download "Jordik Tool 3.21" from http://www.gsmschwantz**** (in section "Software").
  • Connect cable to phone and PC. Switch on phone. Start Jordik Tool 3.21 and use function "Read Phone" to test communication with phone. Maybe phone can't be read, anyway step over to next point.
  • Start EEPROM Tools 3.1, connect cable to phone and PC, switch on phone. Active "Test" checkbox in EEPROM Tools 3.1 and see what happens. There should be some error message from EEPROM Tools 3.1 giving you the reason for "Contact Service".
Then post results here and maybe someone is able to help you.
