n80 screen goes white

This is something that slowly started to happen. Randomly the screen would become scrambled for a few seconds and kept getting worse and longer. After a while it would go white. I could get it to come back by sliding it up and down a bit or pushing different buttons. I first thought there was a loose connection so I took it apart and pushed in all the connection and it seemed to work for about a day and went back to doing it again.

Now the screen is solid white all the time and it wont come back.

What could the problem be?

its sounds like the flex is faulty.. try to clean contact first.. or try to replace..

ok well the cable shipped yesterday

Looking closely at the flex cable that is on the phone now, it looks like it has been rubbed through in a spot so i think this might be the problem.

Are you guys just guessing on this or is it a known problem?

i replaced the flex cable and now my screen doesn't even turn on. Atleast the old cable had a white screen. Did I get a defective cable? The upper keypad lights still come on, just not the screen

when i went to take the cable off, the connector fell off the cable. i guess that is why the screen wouldn't come on.

Is there a website where i can buy genuine nokia replacement parts?
