nokia 6600 button '8' wont work - GSM-Forum

i have this nokia 6600 whose key 8 will not work,i tried tried scraping debris on pads,but did not work.i tried a new inner keypad but will not work too pls help cos the phone is just 3 weeks old

Hello,try to change the IC keypad which are locate next to keypad conector.There are two drivers and one of them is damaged.This are small and blue.

1.change key pad strip
2.change kay pad ics near key pad conctor one by one

if the key pad connectors are rusted these things happen.just clean it and though it dint work.keep pressed the area up on the connector and press the keys if it works change the connectors.b4 changing the ic try all the possible chance to rectify else change the ic. A T B.
