Nokia 6600 KeyPad Solution

Dear all member,

i attached the picture of ic's, your can gues your problem, and work only related IC not both, because some time if you cann't identified your problem, it is very difficult to solve that prolems.

When some keys of Nokia 6600 r not working and problem is in keypad ics then sometimes we have confused which ic we should replaced first .I’m giving some hints to make easy to diagnose which ic is faulty upper or lower.

Upper ic = Connector Pin

1. Gnd
2. 3, 6, 9, #
3. 1, 4, 7, ABC
4. Call, 4, 5, 6
5. Clr, ABC,*, #
6. +v led
7. Right soft key
8. Menu, Left, Soft key
9. Joystick (Right)
10. Joystick (Left)

Lower ic = Connector pin

11. Joystick (center)
12. Joystick (down)
13. Joystick (Up)
14. Left soft key, Right soft key
15. Gnd
16. 1,2,3,0
17. End call, 7, 8, 9
18. Menu
19. 2, 5, 8,*
20. Call, End call, Clr, 0

According to this if sometime few keys r not working in sequence then find in this chart. For example if 1,2,3,0 together r not working then we have to replace lower ic and if 1,4,7,ABC r not working then upper ic is faulty.

If all then its very hard to repair... u need to dig for the lines inside the pads removed... for you to do this u need microscope and a pointed knife... after u clean it u need to apply solder for the IC balls make contact on it....
