The way it works is odd. Normally, when you connect a USB device, the driver is automatically loaded for it.

With PST, sometimes the driver loads automatically, sometimes it loads only when you launch a PST program and it shows "Establishing connection with Motorola Phone."

Where did you get the drivers?

Can you tell me where you got the usb drivers for the C350. I've been looking all over for it. Thanks.

I installed the USB driver and Windows recognize that my phone is attached, but PST does not recognize my phone.

I'm using Compaq Presario 5170 with Windows 98, not Second Edition, I'm currently using PST 6.0, but maybe other versions will work?

Well there are few things about these usb drivers in win98 and win98se. First of all see if you got any infrared port installed in your computer remove it and then try running the pst soft. If in the device manager the USB composite device is not installed correctly, click on reinstall driver and give the path where you have USB drivers folder. then install it and see. If nothing then remove the usb composite device and then click on refresh and see if its works. If still nothing then reeboot the computer, remove any infrared port install on you computer. then run pst and connect the cable to phone and see if it works.
This is my experience because I use win98se and some times I have problem and then I repeat these steps and it works. Other than that the easiest way is format your window and then before you install any other device drivers first install then pst drivers and when they are fully installed I mean usb modem, usb composite device etc then read the phone if every thing ok then install all other drivers like display and sound drivers.

Hope you will understand.

Regards

Bcnboy

I also have problems with PST.
When I connect my phone to USB port windows xp detects it as Motorola USB modem. (because I've installed "Motorola Handset USB Driver.exe").
And that modem works fine, I can connect through dial-up to internet by my motorola phone. Midway 2.6/2.8 works fine.
But when I starts PST or MSS by Victor suddenly "Motorola USB modem" dissapears and winxp finds couple of unknow devices. I know, drivers are in pst directory. But when I'm locating those drivers for that stupid installation wizard he installs only the first device, everything dissapears and I see: "USB composit device" that doesn't work.
PST don't see my moto, and in configuration I can only select COM1,2,3 NOT com4 where I have my motorola modem.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the tip, but I already solved my problem a couple of months ago. Don't ask me how I fixed it, because I basically just fiddled around with the multiple Motorola USB drivers and driver fixes that I found on the internet. After one whole day of hard work and guessing, the PST program is somehow able to connect to my phone. I guess installing random stuff sometimes result in hits. My system was Windows XP, by the way, so maybe the drivers are different for Windows 98.
